As Malaysia is a constitutional monarchy with a rotation system, the role of the Rulers is largely ceremonial and apart from being the custodian of Malay rights, their powers have been largely curtailed by the former Prime Minister. We also hear about night-club brawls involving royalty so let's not forget they are mere mortals too.
So Raja Nazrin appears to put too much power in the hands of the Rulers and empowering them with superhuman powers like being "always be intelligent and wise" detracts from the good they can do as alluded to in this malaysiakini article Raja Nazrin: Rulers will not act on wrong advice
But if a person of his character and ability will sacrifice his inheritance and become a political leader, I am sure his leadership will do much to help Malaysia progress by leaps and bounds.
Let's face it. The political leadership is bankrupt in the UMNO camp and someone like Raja Nazrin could be a tremendous boost to any political organisation.
